reclaimed materials when I can.

I love to use your materials that

have a sentimental value.

As in Grandpa's old shed or

Grandma's old kitchen table.

The possibilities are endless.

Cherry veil

Made from cherry wood I purchased from a television set building studio that was downsizing. The steel was leftover from a construction project and some was purchased from a steel recycler. This was my first attempt at steel sandblast etching. I will definitely do more. While the sandblasting pattern was derived from the shapes of some iron pieces I used on a project, the result reminded me of a lace pattern as in a wedding veil.

Lace and leather

Made from crown moudling I reclaimed from a remodel project I was involved in. The metal is cast alluminum leaves I harvested from security railng we removed during a remodel project. The leaves were shaped and set into steel tubing welded into the eight point fram. This piece is dedicated to my favorite female vocalist.

Eye of the tigerwood

Made from Tigerwood I reclaimed from a flooring project I was involved in. The steel was purchased from a steel recycler. Being only my second sculpture, this piece reminds me of how I saw the potential of the Snowflower project emerge and the committment I suddenly felt to bringing it to life.

Over the years

Made from aged wood that was next to my neighbors shed combined with wood purchaed from a local reclaimed wood supplier. The steel was a combination of leftover pieces from a handrail project and pieces purchased from a steel recycler. inspired by an abandon ghost town I visited in the Colorado mountains near Silver lake lodge. It stood out to me how structures still firmly stood . Despite how they had worn over the years.

Inspirations

The clear acrylic you see in the photos is for designing

only and are not part of the pieces.

The possibilities for different designs are endless as I

move the pieces around to change the designs.and

change out the smaller metal pieces.

It's like each Snowflower is a puzzle with hundreds, if

not thousands, of different solutions.
